RUTH IP-12 is a single-component, oil-based hydrophobic polyurethane injection resin. When it contacts water, it reacts and expands to form a closed-cell polyurethane foam. The material is intended to help stop active water ingress, fill accessible voids and seal leakage paths in concrete and underground waterproofing applications. IP-12 forms a semi-flexible closed-cell hydrophobic polyurethane foam, providing a balance between water-stopping stability and limited movement accommodation. Its tested viscosity supports injection through compatible equipment into cracks and leakage paths before reaction. Product selection, catalyst conditions, injection pressure and site sequencing should be confirmed against the structure, water flow and required repair outcome.
IP-12 is injected as a liquid polyurethane injection grout through suitable packers and a compatible single-component pump. Contact with water initiates the reaction, causing the resin to foam and expand within the available crack or void. The cured hydrophobic foam forms a water-resistant barrier within the treated path.
1. Assess - Identify the leak path, crack condition, water flow and accessible voids.
2. Inject - Deliver IP-12 through compatible packers and injection equipment using a site-appropriate sequence.
3. React and seal - Water contact triggers expansion so the hydrophobic PU grout can occupy the available path and support leak sealing or void filling.
